Location,
Choosing where to take engagement photos is one of the first decisions you'll make as a couple. You need to decide whether you'd prefer indoor or outdoor shots. Outdoor shots tend to be more dramatic and romantic, while indoor shots are often more intimate and personal. If you're having a destination engagement shoot, you might even want to consider taking engagement photos at a local landmark.
The best place to take engagement photos is somewhere that's special to both of you. That could mean a location that holds sentimental value, such as a park or beach, or a spot that has meaning for you personally. For example, if you're engaged to a man who grew up in New York City, you might choose to shoot your engagement photos at the Empire State Building. Or maybe you're engaged to a woman who loves hiking, so you might want to head to a nearby national park.

Pose
Photojournalist style photography Is perhaps the embrace of the anti pose.
The pose idea itself is helpful for setting up the parameters of the image or conveying the concept of the photograph we intend to design. The pose itself is simply a starting point from where our documentary style photography will be in control on the lead up to and take away from the actual pose as most would imagine it. The intended purpose of course is to find real personality and dimension within our photos together rather than a grinning face forward image in a beautiful location.
The traditional pose has its place and it is a helpful tool. For the most important photos of the engagement photography session we can do much better. You have my word.
Outfits.
There's no doubt that the outfits are one of the biggest decisions when planning an engagement shoot. They should fit well, flatter you, and make you feel amazing!
When choosing your outfit, think about what kind of look you want to achieve. If you're looking for something classic and timeless, then go for a simple black dress. However, if you'd prefer something fun and playful, try wearing a bright color such as red, orange, or yellow. You'll be sure to stand out from the crowd while still being able to show off your beautiful engagement ring. Casual has its place as well. Hiking a trail in the National Forest asks for clothing appropriate and fun for the circumstance.
