Our approach to wedding photography starts at our first meeting.   Being comfortable around your wedding photographers is a large part of the final quality of your wedding photographs.  Once we have met and decided that we will be a good match for working with each other we then set up our meetings. 

We encourage our clients to provide us with a schedule for the wedding day and to have a shoot with us before the wedding photography begins.  An engagement shoot or a bridal shoot is a great way for you to see how it feels in front of the camera.  These meetings and photo shoots before the wedding help us know how best to photograph you on your wedding day.

The Engagement Shoot 

Our engagement shoot is offered to perspective clients on non commitment basis. We will photograph you, edit the images and post them to a protected gallery on the web.  After you have seen them you are free to make your decisions about our work. 

Our engagement shoots do not have a time limit or a location limit.  It is very important for us to make double sure that you come away from your engagement shoot with the best photographs you have ever seen. 

Our Classic Bridal Shoot   

Our classic bridal shoot is offered exclusively to our clients who have purchased a wedding package.  We do not have a time limit for this type of shoot.  We do not have a location limit for this type of shoot.

If you do not know what a bridal shoot is, it is a day set aside before or after the wedding where either just the bride and groom or the entire bridal party and relatives can have a photo shoot together.  The whole point of shooting together in the wedding clothes on a separate day from the wedding is to take as much pressure off the wedding day as possible.

Wedding Day Photographs

Together we can capture it all.  The wedding party helping you prepare,  the family and friends  gathering for the ceremony, and of course photographs of the couple taking some time before the wedding.  I like to  shoot the posed shots we are all familiar with and a mix of the candid images that make your wedding unique.   My style blends traditional wedding photography and the photojournalist wedding photography approach together with hints of modern, pop and fine art.

The Wedding Ceremony  Think about the ring bearers, the bride and her father walking down the aisle, your own mother's tears during the ceremony,  the flowers, the candles, the rings.  It sounds so simple but it's important to capture these photos in a style you will be able to enjoy for the rest of your life.  Take the time to find a wedding photographer here in Portland that suits your taste.

The Reception

Your friends and family will all be celebrating your new life. All the traditions and dancing will be captured in the moment for you to remember.  At the wedding and reception I almost exclusively shoot in a photojournalist style. You won't see too many posed wedding photographs in my work.  It's best to capture people in a photograph how they really are.

Exclusive and boutique wedding photographers in Portland are incorporating more photojournalist wedding photographs into their albums.  My wedding photography technique incorporates the "old fashion"  posed wedding photographs and the photojournalist style. Both techniques are important for remembering your wedding day.

The Edit / Touch ups

This is where my images inherit their style.  Each image is edited by hand, retouched if necessary, color corrected and prepared for print. People, unflattering shadows and unwanted objects seem to make it into even the best of the photos from time to time. All of these things are taken care of for you. You can not plan for all the errors but it's good to know that anything can be edited out.  All of these services are included with the cost of your package.  Big package or small, everyone gets the the highest level of quality and attention to detail.

The Web

A website will be created for you the evening of the wedding.  Your friends and family can view and purchase their own copies online or you can purchase a wedding package that includes a little something for everyone in your party. Your shoot will be posted behind the velvet rope, so to speak.  A password will be required to view your images in order to protect your family's privacy.

Wedding proofs are printed up and delivered to you as soon as they have been edited.  All 500 - 1000 of them are sent in a proof album. They are yours to keep.  I encourage you to help select the best to arrange in your wedding album.

Albums are custom designed and mounted to your taste in the hand crafted leather album of your choice. You can pick your Wedding album style, size color and binding method.  I take a great deal of pride in creating wedding albums from the finest materials available. 

Prints are available in any size you require.  I can provide you with your prints alone or mounted framed and matted.

Negatives

Negatives from your wedding are recorded to CD in Jpg format.  If you require slides or another formats please let us know.  We are glad to provide you with anything you need.  Additional charges may apply for unique formats.

                                                        The Proofs

Your wedding proofs will be made available online as soon two business days.  Once you have selected the photos you like from the photographs taken at your wedding it will be about two weeks until you receive your photos or album. Only friends and family with the password that you have selected will be able to view your proofs.

On average your wedding album is in your hands within two weeks.  Each custom option adds a few days.  Some custom options can add a week or so depending on how intricate your requirements are.  It's best to remember that you shouldn’t rush quality.

Follow-up

Sooner or later it might happen. A torn page. Water damage or too much sun exposure to your wedding photos or wedding album. We can fix it.  If we cannot repair the damage we can replace it completely.
